Update!
I have decided to update my blog to use a more efficient way of advertising myself on a larger scale.  I will try to keep constant as to what I put up.  This is will (hopefully soon) be updated with a website where I can do some better damage.  That being said, welcome to the Dandy Blog.

Photo Shoot #2 Done
I just finished my second photo shoot for my Ad Design class. My model was the ever-lovely Jessamyn. I am currently uploading the pictures on the laptop and I will probably end up editing them sometime over the weekend (when I will be doing most all of my work). I was able to take some really good shots and really capture several different ideas that I had brewing in my head. I promised to put...

Life is a frenzy.
Even when I am at my most conflicted, I feel like it’s a normality for it to be this way.  Life is full of inner and outer decisions that are meant to be made over long spans of time and in a split second.  I hate it when I use this blog to vent out my personal feelings about this or that, but it’s relatively easy to mask my emotions behind this digital curtain, and slip deeper into a...

I am ready to run away.
The fall semester is around half over, and I am already to run away.  I feel the ups and downs more than ever, and I just want it to stop.  School is ups sometimes, but sometimes I have a project that just befuddles me as to how it’s ever going to help me to become a better designer.  Personal life is just as confusing.  How do I get things to work, especially when I am an impatient,...

On My Way Home
I start the long trip home early tomorrow.  It has been such a long journey here in Seattle, but I am excited for what’s to come next.  I have learned quite a bit here, but not in the sense I was thinking.  I feel like this has been something that has bolstered my understanding about what design is and how I should be using my design in the near future.  I know that sounds vague, but there...

Seattle...so far
I must admit that my posts have not been epic or common, but I do have a job, which I must admit takes up a lot of time.  So excuses aside, here is what I have been up to. I have been working at a small Web start-up called Jackson Fish Market.  They specialize in making apps for the internet that are branded by companies that you hear of daily.  For instance, they have an app called They’re...

Many weeks in...
The title may be a little sparse when it comes to being descriptive, but I have faith that all two of my readers will know what I am referring to when I write. So far, work is going well, although it is much more work-ish than I am used to and it has taken me many mistakes to feel at ease with where I’m at.  I almost am excited about getting back to school, but that excitement is really...

I AM HAVING THE TIME OF MY LIFE!!!
So, I am sitting here at this brand new Mac computer in a brand new office, sipping some coffee and really loving it.  This is awesome!  It actually feels like I’m an employee as a designer.  That may change, but as a first day, today rates pretty awesome. I haven’t really done anything, except for fiddle on my computer.  I’ll take some pictures and show them off soon. -Luke ...

Day ? - Home
It has been a couple of days since I last wrote, and there is a reason for that. I could fault the lack the of internet, but that would be the easy way out.  I actually felt tired of writing.  I really do like writing, but the daily grind of writing, then uploading pictures, and posting all of these things on the site was a little much for my tired fingers.  Regardless, I have made it to my final...

Day 15 - Grand Expectations
I purposely left off writing yesterday, mostly because it took longer than I thought it would to arrive in Phoenix from the Grand Canyon.  Also, It’s really hot here (39 celsius) and I didn’t feel like sitting, pitting and sweating while writing about a trip up to the Grand Canyon. Which by the way, was AWESOME!  All my pictures on my Flickr link are labeled “Grand Canyon”,...

Day 14 - Good Friends
As much as I have had a hard time with the whole aspect of travelling alone, I have been blessed with a smooth trip and the company of good friends.  When I awoke today, I knew I had a long day ahead of me, but I wasn’t sure where I would end up.  My plan was to stay in Flagstaff, but I knew that one of my friends from Flagler lived in Arizona somewhere and I wanted to stop in to say...

Day 13 - Truth or Consequences
I am having the time of my life! Well, not entirely, but I am having quite a good time.  I arrived in a town called Truth or Consequences (yeah, I know), New Mexico earlier this evening and I am glad that I didn’t stop at El Paso (which is where I originally planned on stopping). However, my trip from Austin to El Paso was by far the most boring of my trip so far.  It was filled with hills,...

Day 12 - Around Austin
I spent the whole day exploring downtown Austin and seeking it’s exciting and loveable things that make it what it is.  There were lots of things to see.  Although I really need to stop taking pictures of buildings, because I am going crazy writing descriptions for random pictures that I took of buildings that I know nothing about.  Oh, and by the way, here they are!  Day 12

Day 11 - Austin City Limits (not the show)
While I was driving from Dallas to Austin, all I could think about was when was this trip going to end.  It’s not that I am not enjoying myself.  On the contrary, I am enjoying it quite thoroughly, but I there are certain things that I have figured out by now, that I will share with you. 1.) It is not fun to drive somewhere and experience something by yourself, because sometimes I feel like...

Day 10 - 810 miles
Today was a long day!  I am currently staying outside Dallas, which is 810 miles (give or take a few) from Valparaiso.  810 miles!  I know that may not be monumental for some, but I feel quite accomplished.  Anyway, let’s start at the beginning! I started around 6:30, but I didn’t want Jon’s apartment to be messy from my time there, so I did his dishes and vacuumed the floor...

Day 8 - A week in Paradise (sort of)
So, I have been in Valparaiso, Florida for about a week now.  I am approaching the end of this leg of my trip here….and I am a little scared.  I have apprehensions about driving the rest of the way and everything working out, but I am sure that the Lord will see me safely through.  Hopefully, on Tuesday, I will start the next leg, which is to Houston.  I plan on spending the night there,...

Day 4 - Lazy ol' me
Okay, so I know I said I would be more productive, but it really is hard when you have a huge television with basic cable sitting right in front of you.  I have done some work, but I haven’t done as much as I said I would.  Anyway, I guess I’ll have to work on that.   luke

Day 2 - Make plans to break plans
I am in the process of planning the route that I will be taking to get to Seattle.  So far I have looked at a map.  That is all. Actually, I have done more than just look at the map.  I know it will be easier to follow I-10 through Texas and then on to California and then upward to Washington.  Here is the tentative plan (as of today): Valparaiso, FL - Houston, TX Houston, TX - Dallas, TX Dallas,...

Day 1 - Car troubles and Dead turtles
Day 1 (click on the link and it takes you to some pictures of that day) So this day started like any other day: I woke up….tired. Lindy and Andy had breakfast with me I packed up my stuff in my car and headed West. Of course, I had to go North first, then West. I was driving past Lake City, and my car gave out. I pulled over the side of the road and I called up my Mom, who gave the...
